About

John Alonso is an illustrator and visual storyteller based in Zurich. His work focuses on characters, narrative worlds and conceptual illustration.

After more than three decades in the creative industry working in branding and communication, he returned to drawing as a central part of his creative practice. Today he develops illustrations for books, brands and editorial projects, often exploring the relationship between storytelling, imagination and visual identity.

His work ranges from children’s illustration and character design to conceptual editorial imagery. Across all projects, he is interested in creating visual worlds that invite curiosity, discovery and quiet humour.

John works independently as an illustrator and also runs the creative studio satōru.
